Marshfield Student Broadcasting’s Desmond O’Neill (’10), did an excellent job putting this building documentary together in Mr. Soslow’s Digital Media class.  It provides an excellent "inside look" at the building deficiencies and how it effects  MHS students on a daily basis.

MHS Master Plan Study (5/27/08)

Robert Vogel, Principal of Design Partnership of Cambridge, presented the results of the firm’s Master Plan Study of Marshfield High School at the May 13, 2008 and May 27,  2008 School Committee meetings.

The School Committee voted to approve the submittal of a Statement of Interest to the Massachusetts School Building Authority in June 2008 at its May 27th meeting.  The Master Plan Study will serve as supporting information for the submission of the Statement of Interest, pending Board of Selectmen approval.  It is important to note that the Master Plan Study is the initial step in a lengthy process in conjunction with the Massachusetts School Building Authority, the Town of Marshfield and its residents.  The Master Plan Study is extremely preliminary, many changes may occur, and much more detail will be attained as the process continues.  Much more information regarding the School Building Authority and its process can be found in Section 11 of the Study and at http://www.massschoolbuildings.org .

The School Department would like to thank the citizens of Marshfield for approving the funding for this initial Marshfield High School Study at the October 2007 Special Town Meeting.  The School Committee and School Administration recognize that community involvement is critical throughout this process and to that end have established an email address to receive community feedback regarding the Marshfield High School Master Plan Study.  Please send any questions or comments regarding this study to MHSBuildingProject@mpsd.org.
