Parent Presentation on MCAS

The Marshfield Public Schools Special Education Department and Parent Advisory Council invites all parents to attend a presentation on The MCAS & Students with Disabilities. The workshop will be presented by Johanne Pino of the Massachusetts Advocates for Children and is scheduled for Thursday March 18, 2010 from 6:30 to 8pm at the Marshfield Ventress Memorial Library.

This course provides background about MCAS and reviews the rights of students with disabilities to access the general education curriculum. It also covers your child’s right to receive necessary MCAS accommodations (such as increased breaks, small group, or a reader) or an alternate MCAS test to make sure your child has a fair chance to show what they have learned. Sample MCAS questions, reporting requirements, and results for students with disabilities are also included.

This workshop is funded by the Massachusetts Advocates for Children, is open to the public, and is free to all participants; however, we kindly ask that you register in advance by contacting Susan Moyse @ 781-837-7689 or susan.moyse@verizon.net.

We hope you will be able to attend.
