DECA, Distributive Education Clubs of America, is an association of Marketing students. Marshfield DECA is a member of Massachusetts DECA and a local chapter of the National DECA organization.

Students enrolled in a Marketing or Business course in their sophomore, junior or senior year are eligible to join. DECA is a co-curricular activity that is also a part of the classroom instructional program. DECA focuses on skills necessary to be competitive in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.

Over 90,000 DECA student members compete yearly in District, State and National competitions to put marketing theories into practice in simulated business situations. Competitive events include written tests, role-play situations and simulated job interviews. Students who win at the District Conferences have the opportunity to advance and compete at the State Conferences, which could lead to advancing and competing at the International Career Development Conference.
DECA believes in competition; plus, offers awards, recognition and scholarships
to students for outstanding accomplishments.

District Conferences are held yearly for two days at the Sea Crest Resort in Falmouth, MA. State Conferences are held yearly for three days at the Copley Marriott in Boston, MA. Each year, DECA International Conferences are held in major cities as Dallas, Orlando, Denver, Nashville, Anaheim and San Francisco.

Members of DECA accepted at colleges and universities where DECA scholarships are offered may also apply for a DECA scholarship. Overall, there are more than 150,000 DECA student members in the United States each year.
