Dear Students and Parents,

I wish to welcome you back to Marshfield High School for our upcoming school year. Our Mission at MHS focuses on each individual pursuing their maximum potential, or plainly committing ourselves to being the best we can be. The last few years our school theme has focused on creating a work ethic (Deserve Victory) and the attitude necessary (It’s All About Attitude!), to accomplish our Mission. This year our theme focuses on the core value integrity, a foundation or building block necessary for our school environment to be a place conducive to learning. Our classrooms, the stage or the ball fields are all places where decisions are made that impact who we are and what our school is all about. Each of us has a responsibility as a student, a teacher or parent to be honest, to always do what is right, and to take care of our part of the school community.

Integrity is choice. It is the means upon which a person’s character is determined and with each choice that we make, we build our character. It begins with the small choices, will I take my lunch tray up, will I turn my homework in on time, or will I respect my classmates and teachers. John Maxwell states, “We create our character every time we make choices – to cop out or dig out of a hard situation, to bend the truth or stand under the weight of it, to take the easy money or pay the price.”1 With each decision we develop and reveal the true individual that we are and it matters.

Our faculty and staff look forward to pursuing integrity and excellence with you. Make a difference and together, let’s see how far we can go.

Have a great school year.

Respectfully,
Principal Keuther
