Committee Reports

·         School Start Times (Linda)

·         Pending sub-committee meeting

§         Visitation (Linda) – will visit Scituate and Hanson

§         Research (Carol) – pending sub-committee meeting

§         Survey (Lisa, Allison) – reviewing survey options

·         Report Card / Trimester

·         Pending sub-committee meeting

PTA

·         Art Show February 26, 6-9pm

·         Sub-team met last night

·         Money raised will be directed towards the art program at SRS

·         Matte frames have been donated and will be used for a silent auction

·         Kid Enrichment Day team formed, looking at a Saturday in March, possibly 20th

·         Note: two custodians and one kitchen worker needs to be paid overtime

·         NSTAR light bulb fundraiser planned

·         Pizza Night January 20
Enrichment

·         NRAS is coming next week to put on an art program demonstrating multiple mediums

·         Students Taking Action will speak to the 5^th graders about peer pressure and bullying issues

National Assessment of Educational Progress

·         NAEP has selected SRS to represent schools across the nation by having 4^th graders tested on February 25. Students will be tested in civics, geography or US history.

Birthday Card Program

·         Linda is beginning a “Happy Birthday” program; children will receive a card signed by Mrs. Loiselle that they pick up in the office.

Survey

·         Survey: parents and staff

·         Full survey 2 years ago

·         Kindergarten parents surveyed last year

·         Date and subject TBD

·         There does not appear to be a requirement to run a survey annually. Discussion around surveying regarding volunteerism and technology however it would need to be better defined. To be discussed further in the March meeting.

Communication

·         Linda has been testing an email communication system.

Ticket to Read

·         Liz Kenney will give a presentation at the March meeting.
