We are always looking for ways to encourage our children to continue to practice reading and pursue knowledge. One of our main objectives as a school is to have children learning independently. Our Little Free Library will help our learning community to achieve that objective. The Little Free Library helps children to easily access information independently on a regular basis through reading. The Little Free Library is a free book-sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. It functions on the honor system. You do not need to share a book in order to take one. If you take a book or two from a little library, try to bring some to share to that same library, or another in your area when you can. Please don’t leave any books outside the Little Free Library. The books will be destroyed by the weather. If books don’t fit in the library take your books home and try to return them on another day when there is room. This is a great learning community resource, and video cameras protect it. We also rely on our community to help us to prevent any misuse. If you see anyone misusing or abusing our library, please report it to the authorities as quickly as possible. I would like to thank Ms. McBride, Mrs. Hanson and Mrs. Walsh for their efforts to bring this reading resource to life here at DWS. We wouldn’t have been able to get this project complete without the help of our custodial staff; Mr. Silveri, Mr. Johnson, Mr. DeCoste and Mr. Greer. They did a great job installing our beautiful Little Red Free Library at the main entrance of Daniel Webster Elementary School for all to use. Happy Reading Everyone!
