    Posted by:

No, you will receive a message via ConnectEd stating your child has been marked absent. Upon returning to school, the student must bring an absent note to their homeroom teacher following their absence.

    The note should include:

              i. Student's name, grade, homeroom

              ii. Date(s) of absence '

              iii. Reason for absence

iv. A physician's certificate is required to return to school if the absence has been due to illness/injury for five or more consecutive days.

Students must be in homeroom by 7:50 AM. Students who are not in homeroom by 7:50 AM must stop in the office to receive a tardy slip. The student must either bring a note from a parent/guardian stating the reason for being tardy, or be accompanied in to the school by a parent. In addition, if the student is tardy due to an appointment he or she must have a receipt or note from the doctor or dentist to have this marked as an excused tardy.

  • 4. What if I need to dismiss my child during the school day?

    Posted by:

Students requiring early dismissal must present a parent/guardian note to the Main Office, before going to homeroom. The note must state a reason and time for dismissal. The student will be issued a dismissal slip, which is to be given to the teacher at the beginning of the class from which the student will be leaving. It is the student's responsibility to report to the office at the requested dismissal time. A parent/guardian must come into the Main Office to sign the student out of school. The only exception is for a student with a note stating that the student may walk to a nearby medical or dental office.

  • 5. What if I need to dismiss my child and was unable to send a note?

    Posted by:

Please call the office and we will get in touch with the student and have them waiting in the office to be signed out. *(A call to the school for dismissal saves time and does not interrupt a class in progress)

  • 6. What if my child becomes sick while in school?

    Posted by:

He or she should report to class and get permission to go to the nurse. If the student needs to go home a parent/guardian will be notified. The parent/guardian will come to the office and the secretary will call the clinic. The student then is asked to report to the office for dismissal.

  • 8. If I drive my son or daughter to or from school, where should I drop them off and/or pick them up

    Posted by:

The student drop-off / pick-up area is located on the cafeteria side of the school (the left side of the building facing 139). It is important that parents use this area as the buses use the front of the building and the gymnasium side of the building.

  • 9. What is the policy regarding cell phones?

    Posted by:

Cell phones are to be turned off as the students enter the building and they should be placed in student lockers. Students are not permitted to use or carry cell phones during the day. If there is a need for a student to use a phone to call home, the student should ask his or her teacher. If a student disobeys these rules, the teacher may confiscate the phone and the parent will be asked to collect the phone after school. Repeated violations will result in progressive discipline
