🥕🧑🍳 Recently, the entire MES 5th grade class had the opportunity to volunteer at End Hunger New England. 🌽🍎 This is our second year packing meals that will be distributed to communities close by and veteran groups. The students worked so hard to pack 35,000 meals and truly learned the "feel good" power of giving. We hope that this meaningful experience stays with them as they continue to grow and leave MES to move up to FBMS. 🫶 We are thankful to our PTO who has continued to support our vision of service to our community!

Janet Applefield recently spoke to 9th grade World History students to tell her story of survival and to encourage students to combat hate and prejudice. As a Jewish child from Poland, Janet survived the Nazi invasion by being hidden with many different caregivers throughout the war. She eventually moved to the U.S., lives in Massachusetts and at 90 years old is still visiting communities to tell her story. We are thankful to the organization “Facing History and Ourselves” for connecting us with Janet. And of course, huge thanks to Janet for taking time to share her impactful story with us.
