Governor Winslow Elementary School held an award ceremony on the last day of school. Two 5th grade students were given the special awards--the "Jim Duffy Award" and the "Good Citizen Award"--and joined by their families for the occasion. 🤩🏆 These award recipients are left a secret to the students until they are announced. Check out these fun pictures of the recipients learning of this surprise in the moments they were called up to receive their awards! Did you see the Facebook photo album we shared with *all* the amazing pictures of Furnace Brook Middle School's 8th grade Class Night? 👀📸 Here's a sneak peek, but be sure to check out the rest of the moments and memories, too! The theme was "Bright Lights, Big City." Huge thanks to Mrs. Segalla and Mr. Baldwin, along with many parent volunteers, who made this a night to remember for our students. Onward to high school they go! ✨💚 #WeRMarshfield

Social emotional learning (SEL) is a priority in our district's health curriculum. 💚 Our district-wide elementary health teacher, Mrs. Madden, visited 4th grade students at Eames Way Elementary this week. They played a fun game which helped students learn and practice ways to cope with stress and anxiety. (Sign us up, please!) Gianna is an assistance dog who joins Mrs. Madden in her work. She was trained to work with children by an organization in western Massachusetts called NEADS. 🐶 Not only does SEL support our students while they are within the walls of our schools, but our students are learning valuable tools they can take with them out into the world! 🌎 #WeRMarshfield

In case you missed it, excitement was high last week for Launch Day! ⚓️⛵️💦 Kayaks and canoes built by Marshfield High School students launched for the first time in Green Harbor. The icing on the cake was that Superintendent Granatino and Principal Keuther were aboard their boats! Nicely done, students--this project was a big undertaking and you nailed it! 😎🙌 #WeRMarshfield

#WeRMarshfield recognizes and celebrates neurodiversity! 🧠💭 Earlier this week, Eames Way Elementary School held their first Neurodiversity Fair for Grades K, 1, 3 and 4. Here were just a few highlights from the event: ⭐️ Regina DiMascio and Erika Joyal, Special Education Teachers, helped with a Learning Profile Station for students to identify their unique learning style. ⭐️ Reading Teacher Mrs. Spaulding talked about how dyslexic learners process and learn differently. ⭐️ Mrs. Spaulding and two students shared personal experiences with their own dyslexic brains, celebrating and teaching others about the ins and outs of their unique brain wiring. All three have worked hard to become avid readers! 📚
