Students in Mrs. Asmus's 6th grade science class used slinkies to visualize sound waves. The slinky represented air particles carrying the sound wave energy. They watched the energy get passed down the slinky as they gave it a quick jab, and saw the echo come back to them, too! Bet you never played with a slinky like this before! 🤔💭💚 #WeRMarshfield

At the MPSD central office, one of the best days of the month is when a new art display arrives. One school fills the frame each month with student work. Thanks to the artists at Daniel Webster Elementary and their teacher, Mr. DeRosa, for this month’s awesome display! 🎨🤩 #WeRMarshfield

Our grade 8 students were very excited to hear the wonderful presentation from South Shore Regional Vocational Technical High School last week. They met SSRVTHS Principal Baldner Maas and heard a fantastic presentation by Mrs. Dow, SSRVTHS Director of Guidance. They also learned one of our fabulous teachers, Mrs. Sullivan, graduated from this school to become a teacher (she credits Mrs. Baldner Mass for this!). We can’t wait to see what some our students will do in the future with the opportunities offered at SSRVTHS! 💚 #WeRMarshfield

Congratulations to this week's Educator of the Week, Ms. Sarah Alberico. 🙌 Ms. Alberico is a dynamic English teacher at Furnace Brook Middle School, where she also works as the English Department Coordinator. Ms. Alberico is an enthusiastic educator who brings a student-centered approach to her classroom activities. In addition to her work in the classroom, she does a fantastic job as the Department Coordinator and is always finding ways to improve our English course offerings. This past spring, she was also a key member of the Planning Team that crafted our new 5-year Strategic Plan. We are fortunate to have Sarah on our team at the FBMS. Congratulations Ms. Alberico! 💚🤩 #WeRMarshfield
